We were told you are now girls and Mommy found out Saylor was half the size of Maci. We were monitored every week to check for twin-twin transfusion. No sign of it. Couldn't figure out why she was so small. |

Mommy put in hospital on strict bedrest. Dr. Cowles finally figured out that Saylor's umbilical cord was not getting enough blood flow through it. Told she wouldn't survive if we gave birth now and Maci might not make it. Was told Saylor would be way too small for equipment. |

Mommy and Daddy found out Saylor had a grade 2 brain bleed. We were devastated! Although a grade 4 is the worst, which is what Maci had, and we were thankful yours wasn't that bad. If we'd only known it didn't mean everything was ok. |

Daddy got to hold Saylor for the first time. She absolutely loved it and responded well. Of course she always favored her daddy!! |

Found out Saylor had some areas in her brain showing permanent brain damage. Also called Periventricular Leukomalacia. Won't know how large the damaged areas are until she is off vent and can tolerate an MRI. |

We struggled getting Saylor off the vent. Showed just how much of a fighter she was. Twice she crashed after having the tubes taken out and would have to be reintubated immediately. |

Saylor's twin, Maci got to go home. Saylor had to stay. Mommy and Daddy were both very sad and later told each other we both had a strange feeling we wouldn't ever get to take Saylor home with us. |

Mommy and Daddy were told that Saylor's MRI was showing extensive parts of the brain that was gone. It had been damaged sometime early in her life that now was showing up as liquid. She would probably never have a productive life. Almost 12 hours after finding this out, she slowly began to deteriate for no medical reason. Mommy and Daddy believe she knew that we knew, she just couldn't fight anymore. |

Mommy and Daddy decided to go home for the night after 4 long days of being with Saylor. We did not think she would go tonight. How wrong we were. Saylor waited until we were both home safe and had both spent a little time with Maci and Matilyn and passed away on August 02, 2005 around 1:15 a.m. She made it one day passed her due date. She proved her point!!! She was definetly a FIGHTER!!! |
